Conflicting Feelings About the Ghost in My Home
Years ago I lived in a high rise in Okinawa on property where a bloody battle was fought during WWII.
I was up late sewing one evening.
I was in the dining room and had the tv on in the background.
I got up to switch stations on the tv when I looked down the hallway to where the bedrooms were.
At the end of the hallway I saw the figure of a man.
The man was of grayish tones and he was only visible from his head down to his mid thigh where he faded out.
He didn't seem to move but he was looking towards me.
I stood there frozen for a few seconds, never taking my eyes off of him, before I quickly looked to the front door to see if it had been opened.
The deadbolt on the front door was still locked so I knew the front door had not been opened.
When I looked back down the hallway he was gone.
I quickly flipped on the hallway light and ran to check on my children.
They were safely alone in their rooms.
During those few brief moments this occurred I felt cold and my stomach was in knots.
My heart was racing as I ran thru the rest of the apartment to make sure no one had entered.
I finally returned to the dining room where I sat and began to analyze what I had just seen.
While I knew without a doubt that I had just seen “someone”, I also kept telling myself that my eyes had played a trick on me because I was tired from being up so late.
Prior to this event I had never been one to think about ghosts/spirits and I certainly didn't believe in them.
In the years since I have thought of this experience many times and I have never doubted what I saw.
Even having experienced this I still feel conflicted about whether I believe in ghosts.
