Central Texas, around Midnight.

I was taking the doggos out to the back yard to do what they do, and I was just standing on the porch looking up at the stars, trying to see if I could ratchet something other than the Big Dipper out of the various stars present.

As I looked back and forth, encouraging our elderly Dachshund who has plans for world domination, I noticed a satellite going from East to West.

A solid white light, which was very small, about as small as a satellite would be, and thought that I have not seen one in some time.

Well, it's motoring about up there, when I noticed it seemed to be moving in herky-jerky fashion, like sped up claymation.

Then I saw a flash of blue then red light, seemingly from the same location, and my brain stuttered.

1. We live close to a small municipal airport.

2. There was zero noise.

3. There were some ragged clouds left after some severe storms throughout our area this evening.

4. That's when it registered that the small planes here are never that high up, unless it's a small jet.

We see them regularly, and hear them when they land or take off.

Then the damn thing made a U-turn.

I mean a tight, like something you see in a movie, type turn.

And started traversing back towards the east.

It began to stutter again, then started making random patterns that no plane could do.

Y'all, I was so glad to see something like this.

It made start and stop motions. Hovered for like half-seconds at a time, made some "S" motions, flew a perfect equilateral triangle, and I damn near levitated.

My phone was in the house, because why would I need it when I want to see what the clouds look like, and we've just had a large storm system roll through, with possibility of more to come, tonight or even tomorrow?

I rue that now. You have no idea how much. I ran inside and scared the absolute hell out of my wife, as I bounced beside the bed saying she needed to come outside and see it.

When we got out there, it was gone..

It was nothing but an erratically flying, tiny bit of light, that seemed to be flying very high, as it was above the clouds and disappeared ever so briefly during the beginning of the sighting, before I realized it wasn't a satellite. .

Still, I got to see it.
