My Haunted Childhood Home
I'm just posting here to get some insight on what might've been happening in my childhood home. I'm a skeptic but there's literally no other explanation.
My childhood home had weird things happening in it, specifically names being called from other rooms by your family members whether you were home alone or not.
This would happen at least once a week to someone in my family. you would hear your name being called across the house even though no one was home or the person just didn't call you, but it was mostly just when the other person wasn't home.
Another one was doors slamming shut right in front of you. It sounds fake but all of my family members have separate accounts of watching doors slam shut.
Other things like things violently falling out of cabinets, feeling like you were being watched from certain rooms even though we lived in the middle of the woods with no neighbors, footsteps from the floor above you (specifically sounding like someone was pacing down the hallway), a “bump in the night” every hour even though we lived in the middle of nowhere in a newer house.
Our realtor even brought us in a professional to sage the house when we bought it because something wasn't right.
My family is extremely no-nonsense and this went on for over 10 years with several people moving in and out. We all saw the same things together and individually.
The house was only about 40 years old when we moved in so nothing crazy happened. I believe we may have been near a burial ground since we literally lived in the woods on top of a flat hill.
I also believe it may have been due to having 2 extremely large mirrors facing each other on the top floor (like they have in the stanley hotel) and i've heard that's super not great.
I'm mostly posting here to maybe get some insight on what that was so I stop feeling like I'm crazy when I say “I'm a skeptic but..”.

Why do you continue to call yourself a skeptic? It sounds as if you had exposure to some pretty overt paranormal experiences, individually and corporately (from the sound of it). What more would it take for you to no longer consider yourself a skeptic?
