Look, it doesn't matter if some "woo" does indeed exist within the UAP subject.

People speculate the wildest things:.

"The aliens have a video of Jesus' crucifixion".

"The Annunaki are real".

"We can contact aliens by praying".

"Aliens are gods and demons".

"They can feed on our emotions".

Please. Let's not forget that many people wants to use the NHI hypothesis as a gateway for validating their personal beliefs. How many times have we seen movies about western people finding ancient civilizations and being mistakenly considered as gods? It's the old trope of savages thinking that civilized people have magical powers, or as Arthur C. Clarke said, “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”.

I'm not saying that there's no woo in the UAP phenomenon. I'm saying that mankind is most likely not educated enough to actually understand and judge it. We're like savages that doesn't know the difference between a TV and a magical cristal ball. Aladdin rubbing his magic lamp to make the Genie give him food may be actually just a guy using his phone to order a pizza!.

See, this is why speculating about the "woo" is counterproductive. If we actually knew the facts about it, it most certainly wouldn't be "woo" to us anymore. If you want to learn how something works, you don't speculate about it; you read the manual.

Can't read the manual? Then you gotta learn to read. You need a teacher. You need to communicate. You need contact. Or else, you need to increase your analytical capabilities to reverse engineer it. You shouldn't go blindly pushing buttons and hoping that it works.

Focusing on the woo at this stage is extremely premature and will result mostly in a ton of mistakes. Mistakes that will make ufologists be seen as crazy naive people.

Let's not put the cart behind the horse. Focus on uncovering not simply the truth, but the knowledge behind it. Because without knowledge, the truth can be distorted. And distorted truths can be as damaging as lies.

Be practical. Don't let the lack of knowledge make you subservient.

Some UFO enthusiasts are like virgins eager to put the subject of their desires on a pedestal.

Edit: Clarifying this a bit, since lots of people didn't get it: I'm advocating for a "Knowledge First" approach. As already said, this doesn't mean the woo doesn't exist. It means we can't judge its purpose and its nature until we figure out its inner workings.

Also, personal experiences are important but they can't be taken at face value by everyone else unless uncontestable evidence is presented. Again, this doesn't mean the woo is false, it simply means that if the only way to prove it is to experience it, then just wait for people to experience it instead of pushing a "trust me bro" narrative. It may feel frustrating, but that's life.
