UFO sighting in Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia
I'm not sure if I can post this here, but let me know.
We're staying in a house on Claytor Lake in Dublin, Virginia (about 20ish minutes away from Blacksburg) for a wedding this weekend.
It's a nice little lakeside house in the mountains.
My boyfriend and I aren't the kind of people to automatically assume aliens or UFO's but we saw last night I just can't explain. .
During a bonfire something caught the corner of my eye and it looked like a stationary blinking turquoise/blue light.
I tapped my boyfriends shoulder and said what is that?.
It was in the air above the lake, maybe a mile or so away.
My first thought was cell tower, satellite, drone?.
It was clearly in the air at airplane height and couldn't be a tower because of how it moved after.
He said it was a plane and that it was moving towards us that's why it looks stationary and I said “No.. it's been there for a few seconds now and hasn't moved”.
Then, a plane flew by and he said “See? It's a plane”.
Almost immediately when he said that, the blue light DARTED to the right almost 5x the speed of the airplane and our jaws dropped.
It stayed there for about a second then darted off again out of sight behind trees.
I'm going to be realistic first, I heard Virgina has police drones for speeding?.
Could that be it?.
Also, can drones even be as high as airplanes?.
Or is this similar to the Brown Mountain sightings?.
We are in the middle of the Blue Ridge. I WISH I had gotten footage but it happened so fast, I didn't event have time to grab my phone.

I live on the coast of VA.
When I lived in Roanoke in the early 2000s, I saw similar lights and behavior that youre describing.
There is a shit load of sightings in this state.
I cant say what you saw but youre not alone.
Virginia is becoming one of the hot spots for UFOs.
