Visual and auditory patterns that higher beings would be on the lookout for
Something that's been discussed is whether extraterrestrial beings would have some form of universal language, one within our usual senses (eg: not accounting for telepathy) namely audio and imagery.
One designed with the knowledge that beings from different parts of the universe have no idea what words or symbols beings elsewhere use hence they'd need to deduce it.
I don't mean a whole spoken or written language, one would be too complex to meet that goal effectively: I'm thinking simple symbols or codes or intervals expected to be universally interpreted.
In terms of sound, I was sent a set of tones believers give significance to,
I think they were taken from the CE5 app: I downloaded the audio and cleaned it up a bit, fixed the channels and removed background noise and so on, will have it on my devices if I wish to play around.
Wonder if there's a reason they're commonly called Crop Circle Tones, like if they're translated from crop circles (image to sound conversion), it's nice and relaxing to listen to in any case. It's a good start and example.
One I've thought of myself: If you can program a strong flashlight to blink at repeated intervals and transmit something like morse code, are there perhaps numbers or simple forms of binary that would draw attention?.
I'd have some bets on patterns like cycling the solfeggio frequencies, or easy to deduce universal constants like PI and "magic" numbers such as 142857.
Just to be clear:
This isn't delving into whether some numbers or frequencies have a special meaning,
I'm interested in things like sacred geometry but it's unrelated to the question.
This is basically the presumption that a hypothetical advanced race looking for neighbors would say "any species in the universe that evolves to understand vibration and mathematics will find those numbers odd and see a special meaning in them, they'll think to beam them to us knowing we likely think the same way and natural formations like stars / pulsars don't produce them naturally, so we programmed our AI to pick up on such flashes or vibrations and find those who want to be found".

If you want to know how to get their attention, go look at how the Aricebo message was constructed, but remember everything we do is based on human logic. “Math” might not even be a concept to an alien species.
