What if the aliens are afraid of us?
Now, this is all just speculation on my part, and assumes a few things. So I'll start with the facts.
FACT 1: UFO sightings increased dramatically after the first atomic tests by the US (and yeah, it's atomic not nuclear at that point).
FACT 2: There has never been a report of a UFO engaging and destroying a human fighter craft. In fact, the UFO's always seem to avoid and retreat from a potential engagement and use their speed and agility to effectively run circles around us.
FACT 3: Reports exist of the UFO's disabling nuclear missiles and bases, and in some rare cases, slowing down time or disabling people with a device similar to a phaser from Star Trek. But never what we would call weaponry.
FACT 4: The United States shot down multiple objects recently, some of which they have refused to show the public. Odd when you consider how open they were with the Chinese balloon. Now, if these were UFO ships or drones or devices or whatever, this means that UFO tech is destructible by human tech.
Theory:.
The aliens are not as technologically advanced as they want us to think, and in fact they are scared of us. Otherwise, why would they do a song and dance of observing and running away? Why wouldn't they just send a ship and blow up a city and than demand that we give them what they want? It doesn't make any sense. If they had deals with world governments as some people believe, than why do they retreat from human fighter craft like the one in the Tic-tac naval video? The only other explanation would be that there are several different UFO groups involved. I think that they are terrified of us to some degree.
That may sound arrogant, but think about it like this. The US blew up SOMETHING, and than got real weird about it. IF, it was some sort of alien tech, however weak, that means our weapons do affect them. That they aren't invincible. If your thinking "But dude, if they travelled across the galaxy their tech must be insane!".
There is nothing saying that every race in the galaxy must develop like we did. It's human arrogance to assume that because we did, they must be better in every way. Their planets metals may function radically different than ours, leading to different tech and assumptions. Their bodies might exist in such a way that killing each other is hard, and therefore they never put much effort into weaponry.
Just something to think about.

My first post here, so sorry if I made any mistakes or errors. Anyway, its just something I started about a few days ago when people on here were that any aliens must be advanced that our tech would be basically unable to harm them. And that reminded me of the Native Americans and the Europeans.
The Europeans had big boats and guns which allowed them to cross an entire ocean. And yet they could still be killed by duded with bows and spears. Technological superiority does not equal an impenetrable shield.
