What Makes Up the Psyche of the PseudoSkeptic?

What Makes Up the Psyche of the PseudoSkeptic?
Posted On: September 7, 2023

Just curious for a couple years ago I ran into an entire group of them that had their own little club on this one website that is now defunct.

I posted an EVP clip of my brother which I posted here a couple months ago.

It is one of the loudest EVPs ever and I say that with the utmost confidence.

Definitely the loudest (and 2nd or 3rd clearest) EVP in my audio library.

This group that I mentioned took the concept of pareidolia to an extreme level.

The first skeptic that commented on my audio clip claimed all he heard was static then many others followed suit and also claimed that is all they heard.

One person even claimed that he had the volume of his gaming PC (which would mean he had a very loud sound system) at full blast and all he heard was static.

If you haven't heard my EVP yet then go ahead and listen to it and then tell me whether or not you hear only static with nothing resembling any type of human vocal tone.

EVP of my Brother.

What started my curiosity into the mind of the skeptic.

(in particular 'pseudoskeptics' though I was not familiar with this term back then and until that moment my experiences with those who are skeptical had been very negative).

was when one of the members of this group posted a comment about how advanced and powerful modern day audio software is.

and that I could have easily faked the audio file into making it sound like an EVP.

(though I find this notion to be counterintuitive for wouldn't that mean that there are some real EVPs in the world if they are supposed to contain certain common characteristics?).

I assumed that he did not read the earlier comments and had a quick trigger-finger when it comes to accusing people of deceit.

If I faked a voice then logic would dictate that he heard a voice!.

So is it complete 100% denial of anything remotely related to the paranormal field, is it outright lying in order to preserve the (false) image/narrative that all believers are uneducated whackos with mental illnesses while the skeptic is an enlightened intellectual being, or did they indeed hear only static due to possibilities such as selective hearing?.

Are there any other theories and possibilities that I did not think of?.

Have you ever had a negative experience with a skeptic (more particularly, a pseudo-skeptic)?.

I feel as though you are asking people to apologize for being rational. Im sorry your evidence is not compelling in the least.

Why?.

Its someone in a slightly distorted voice talking.

You claim its your dead brother, and from where I sit, it could be anybody.

I am sorry for the loss of your sibling, but if youre trying to convince me this is evidence of the paranormal Im going to have to ask you to do better.

Skeptics want objective evidence, not hearsay or simple claims.

Also, there are not Pseudo Skeptics, there are just Skeptics.
