I lived my life thinking UFOs were fake. How do I handle the possibility that they’re real?

Are Sleep Paralysis and the UFO phenomenon linked?
Posted On: April 13, 2023
What are your personal opinions and theories on this topic? I'll give an example from my own past.
I've had sleep paralysis my whole life. Since age 4 to age 20. Then I started smoking weed daily and it stopped mostly. Anyways, I've had some mind blowing experiences that I've only ever thought were hallucinations caused by a sleep disorder and nothing more.
As a child I'd have the same recurring SP episodes. An old witch lady trying to strangle me, a green crescent moon shaped face man with a top hat and a grin. Always . . . [

UFO Summoning and the Scientific Method
Posted On: April 12, 2023
Science gets a bad reputation around here, there's no getting around that. But science, more than anything else, is a tool. It's a tool that has gotten us to the moon, provided countless new medicines, and given you the tech you're reading this on right now.
So let us use a little science, shall we?
So, what do we do? Well, I have a basic idea of what we could do. However, I am not a professional scientist, so this is going to look a little rough. If there are scientists on this subreddit, you should definitely refine my desig . . . [

Natural Explanations for a friend's UFO sighting?
Posted On: April 11, 2023
I took one of my friends to the airport this morning, and he shared with me a UFO sighting that he had several years ago.
I'm not 100% convinced of the phenomena myself, but I love the topic, and I'm always willing to change my mind, because frankly I want to believe, I just want the strongest evidence possible when making these kind of claims.
My friend is currently a medical student, and observed this while flying a Cessna with his flight instructor several years ago. I know of no reason for him to make any of this up, and he ha . . . [

Man has lamest Big Foot sighting and is asked to leave cryptid community
Posted On: April 10, 2023
I have had sightings and interactions with 2 separate cryptids and no one I tell in person cares or believes me.
I live in east Texas and I have had multiple sightings and one close encounter with the black panther which I won't bother with the details here.
But everyone I tell is either uninterested, doesn't believe or believes me and just doesn't see it as a big deal.
It baffles and frustrates me that we have our own local cryptid and it's either believed as a real animal and shouldn't be given the time of day, or . . . [

Some Theories on Why Sasquatch Are Hard to Catch on Trail Cameras
Posted On: April 9, 2023
So earlier in the week, my wife and I were discussing on why our cats particularly like to chew on my instrument cables, display cables, and power cords.
We've narrowed it down to live chords and cables. To clarify, cables that are hooked into the wall and are receiving power and has an active current. They seem to leave all of my other chords alone but the ones that have an active current, they're chewing on them almost immediately.
They love them. Now I don't want to turn this into a cat post, but this is very very important . . . [

Lieutenant Federico Machain and his Tic Tac UFO sighting in 1965
Posted On: April 8, 2023
In a period of more than a month, the radars of the Punta Indio Naval Air Base detected sporadic unidentified contacts blips. These echoes sometimes appeared alone, other times in formation, and other times approaching or chasing aircraft in flight.
On June 31, 1965, Lieutenant Federico Machain took off in pursuit of one of these echoes and was able to maintain visual contact. He described the object as ellipsoidal in shape, 12 meters in length and that it moved away at very high speed towards the Rio de la Plata.

How Do Airline Companies Prevent UFO Sighting Gossip From Leaking?
Posted On: April 7, 2023
According to the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), there were 110,000 active pilots in 2019. With that many pilots in the air, one would think that there would be significantly more sightings than what one typically hears about. Now, let's just say a small handful of those pilots actually do see something. I would imagine some of those pilots would at least tell some friends and family members, right? .
There's also a LOT of different types of people besides just the pilots in the air-line industry. We're talking vast numbers o . . . [

UAP Sighting Netherlands
Posted On: April 6, 2023
I was driving on the Afsluitdijk in the middle of the night, coming off a job in Amsterdam, going back to my hometown. When I was almost at the end of the Afsluitdijk my radio started to stutter. I was surprised because my car is using DAB+ and it was the first time that my radio malfunctioned. So I decided to change the radio station into another channel but the same staggering sound could be heard.
I drove around 135 km per hour when this happened. There was a light (emulsion) visible in my right eye. Since this Afsluitdijk is basically a . . . [

Shouldnt The Number of UFO Sightings Be Significantly Higher?
Posted On: April 4, 2023
According to the FAA, “Every day, FAA's Air Traffic Organization (ATO) provides service to more than 45,000 flights and 2.9 million airline passengers across more than 29 million square miles of airspace.” In addition, that's 16,405,000 flights handled each year, and 45,000 flights per day. During peak operation times, there's 5,400 aircraft in the sky at peak operation times.
Now, that's a LOT of flights, and a LOT of passengers on each flight. With all those flights and all those people up in the sky, wouldn' . . . [
